Meet RACK EM author A.H. Scott

In a small, French village, a grand dame of envied collectibles has been murdered in the night, as a trail of treasure and tears leads onto the doorstep of an unsuspecting Vancouver auction house. Recaptured bobbles of devotion from two fated lovers of long days gone by, bring together varied egos into the life of an antiques dealer.

Beauty came to Vancouver, as if it were a smiling wind from across the ocean. For this harried male, a pair of bodacious Italian belles and woman of gentle grace from China proved to be something extra for him. Man and woman, who were once strangers and adversaries, became bound in each other’s arms and hearts. A liquidator in fine fabric has woven itself amongst the sublime class of international buyers and sellers of collectible curios.

Seduction’s game is about to break. Question is; can a man fight temptation or join in? Only one move is left to make.

New York or LA? New York Why? New York has a rhythm to it. It’s from the people. Even the smells of the streets of the city have their own vibe. From the delis to the restaurants, you can’t beat the food. It’s an attitude of the strutters, who know exactly where they’re going and know exactly what it takes to get there.

Tell us about the absolute BEST fan letter you have received . – I can’t yet. I haven’t been lucky enough to receive one yet. But, I keep my fingers crossed for that blessed day for a fan to want to know more about the writings of A.H. Scott and get in touch with me across cyberspace.

How did you start your writing career? Bit by bit, as the years have gone by, I’ve just been scribbling and jotting down my thoughts. From writing poetry in my teenage years, the complexities of what I was writing would become more intense. Then, suddenly, chapters were becoming longer and longer.

Tell us about your current release. ”Rack Em” is my current novel. Its a romantic thriller with sex, murder and greed at the heart of it. But, then again, it involves a timeless treasure of love and devotion between two souls. Set in Vancouver, its main characters are an auction house owner and his many visitors from around the globe in search of these priceless bobbles. “Rack Em” is a diamond that sparkles amongst gems of decadence. If you’re looking for something spicy and surprising, “Rack Em” will nicely and tightly fit the bill.

Tell us about your next release. Well, my next release will probably be a novel which was originally published in 2010 by the now defunct Hearts On Fire Books. (RIP, Hearts on Fire Books. Thanks for at least giving me a chance.)  Its titled, “Over My Head” and about  the story of a marriage of secrets that lead to a straying and fraying amongst this couple. “Over My Head” may seem like a simple romance gone awry as the story rolls along. Yet, there are twists and turns that will catch the breath from any readers’ lips, when they get a chance to read it in the future. I’m in the final stages of re-tweaking and tightening up a few loose ends of “Over My Head” right now.

What is the hardest part of writing your books? The hardest part of me writing a book is placing the first word onto a page. If I can get that first word started, then a sentence will take shape. From there, some names, places, plot, and location comes next for me.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing your books? I have learned that I can get my own mind into some dark corners that I never figured were in my psyche. I’ve also realized that my writing isn’t designed for a meek reader. I’m not attempting to be a master of prose. I’m just trying to be A.H. Scott.  Writing sexy tales is the spark to my soul.

Then again, another thing which has made me blush, even in the solitude of writing is the ability to be as light and feathery in a quintessential romance. Or, have the anvil of arousal as nasty and kinky as I possibly can be. Behind the keyboard, nobody can see me. They would never guess that this average looking woman is the passionate writer of such scintillating prose. And, the wicked words from my imagination flow like gallons of sweat amongst a grinding hodgepodge of bodies  to a blistering climax. Oh, as I answer your question, it even makes me blush right now. A writers’ ability to take something so bold and make it come to live across the page, is something I truly relish. And, believe you me, I relish taking characters through paces & places where passion smolders in the darkness of night.

Do you listen to music while writing? If so what? Carole King, Elton John, The Eagles, Bad Company, Barry Manilow, Black Sabbath, Paco de Lucia, Deep Purple, Van Halen

How do you develop your plots and your characters? Do you use any set formula?  I don’t think I could ever try to use a set formula. It’s like putting me in a strait-jacket of conformity.

If you were to write a series of novels, what would it be about? Crossing my fingers in having success with “Rack Em”, I have some of the characters from this novel as a possibility of returning in a future series of novels.
